Blocks for Diana's Golden Needle

In lieu of charity blocks this month, we decided at yesterday's meeting to make blocks for Diana's Golden Needle project (this is her Facebook page). 

In short, Diana is a 15-year-old who was adopted from Russia at 14 months old.  In order to earn her Girl Scout Gold Award, she set a goal to make 16 quilts for kids who will age out of foster care in South Carolina.  She's already exceeded that goal (46 quilts donated already!), but she's committed to continuing to make and distribute as many quilts as she can until March 2017.  Click here to read a a May 2015 article about her project.

If you would like to make a block (or blocks) to send to Diana, click here to see the scrappy trip around the world pattern she's requested for the blocks.  Each requires just six strips of fabric 2-1/2" by 16" and they're fun to make (at least I think so).

Please bring any blocks you make to the November meeting and we'll send them off to her.
