June 2019 Meeting Recap

And the Raffle Quilt Goes to...

Chris E.! Congratulations!

Announcements
  • We have 2 new Board members. Tina Marney is President, and Ariane Zurcher is Secretary. Good luck to you both!
  • Make sure to sign up early for our next guild year. It's easier to plan our great programs when we have collected dues and have a headcount.
  • We have 25 members attending the retreat; should be fun!

Coat of Arms
Sue E. added this improv patch using fabrics that match the original jacket.

Ellen Y. took the jacket next.

Charity
The last of the blocks for the St. Vincent's quilts are in. The quilts will be quilted and finished by our October meeting.

Bundles of fabric were made and distributed for baby quilts and pillowcases, from the fabric donated by Candy's Quilting. There will be more fabric to use at the retreat. These items will be due in December.

Block Lotto
This month's blocks were won by Jean R.

Summer Challenge
Participants swapped UFOs, with which they will make something new!

Backbasting Demo
Deborah B. showed us a great technique to make our hand applique come out perfect every time!

Show and Tell
Lisa M. made this top using the method Chris E. showed us at our April meeting...

...and this pineapple quilt that won a ribbon at the Empire Quilters' show.

Margaret C. made both of these quilts using up her scraps.

Maureen H. long arm quilted this herself for an Instagram challenge.

Diane S. made this scrap quilt...

...and this "ferris wheel" paper-pieced mini.

Marie C. made this "Comic Book Nerd" quilt.

Ariane Z.'s quilt is for her sister...

...this pillow was inspired by Sue Spargo...

...and was this piece made in her class.

Tina M. made this quilt out of shirting scraps.

Cynthia C. started this piece in a class at Quiltcon.

Nelson S. made this baby quilt.

See you in October!
