October 2024 Meeting Recap

 

It was wonderful to get back together after our summer hiatus

We kicked off the meeting with our message quilts - a summer challenge directed by Bruce

Nanette showed her craft room talisman - warding off any bad crafting vibes.

Debbie then showed her Saving the World quilt with a featured olive branch


Diane showed a Kawandi for Kamala!


Andrea turned a scrap table panel into a jacket - with a pieced vote emblem!



Chris thrilled the crowd with her response to Roe v Wade falling


Jean referenced the day she saw more hope - 7/21/24 with a new presidential candidate


After the summer challenge quilts, we jumped into show-and-tell

Diane showed her Basket of Deplorables quilt


And a string quilt out of a Sunday Morning Quilt pattern



Laurie showed a couple of dresses and a jacket!




Sue showed her latest donation to Room to Grow - a hexie quilt made from the scrap table donations


Arlene was inspired by the International Quilt Museum and made her rendition of the Grandma’s Fan quilt - made from scraps!


Chris showed fantastic sashiko panels she worked on over the summer while caring for her husband.


Sarah showed a retirement quilt made for a longtime coworker


Anne showed a few quilts - a quilt made from a class at the 92nd Street Y

Renee showed her finished hand quilted, EPP quilt called Peace in Our Times


Jenny showed a 1900’s quilt that she is patching


Terry showed vintage quilt blocks that she has pieced together


Claire showed a wedding quilt for her nephew


Bruce showed his latest quilt Story Time


Brian showed a quilt he finished in 2 days, to be raffled for charity


Vickedy showed her latest pattern available for purchase


Asher showed their latest project - a pieced shirt from a Mood pattern


Maren showed her latest quilt made from end of bolt fabrics - the Relativity pattern


Bianca showed a small appliqué project


Sam showed an embroidery/sashiko project she’s conducted on her jeans



Alison showed three quilts - a kawandi piece


A Santa Clause panel


And a quilt made from a 3 yards of fabric pattern
