When Helen asked for "holiday" blocks, I immediately thought of snow, which is what I associate all the winter holidays with. Even if we haven't seen any yet this year (though I did see some flakes falling yesterday)! So in wishing for a little holiday snow, I made this big snowflake for her, who has a whole blizzard now with her snowballs for the Two's Company bee.
My low-contrast block is based on this quilt from The Buggy Barn--though theirs is much better, and I would love to make that whole quilt one day. In the meantime, I can't wait to see how this works with all the other lovely holiday blocks everyone has made for Helen!
Lovely block!
ReplyDeleteMary, that is an amazing block. Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh....This block is awesome, Mary! I love the quiet sparkle of new snow, and you've captured that here. I know it will shimmer brightly for the holidays. Let's make some snow angels!!!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! I'm in love with this snowflake!
