Last year, February 2016, we teamed up with Timeless Treasures to create Quilts For Kids charity quilts using #QuiltsForKids' Dash Basic fabric.  The bright, tone on tone colours are fun to work with and 10% of the net sales of the fabric are donated to the organisation.

Our block of the month challenge for this month is RED half-square triangle blocks.  Make as many 5 1/2" half-square triangle blocks* as you'd like, using a solid red or tonal red print (red on red) for one of the triangles and a print of your choice on the other.  For every block you make and bring to the April meeting, you will get a one chance to win them all!

*Note:  5 1/2"  is the unfinished size, including 1/4" around for seam allowance -- will finish at 5".

p.s.  Here are two tutorials on how to make HST.  They are just two of the first ones that came up on Google.  Feel free to search your own favorite tutorial!  BTW, I personally prefer the "cut 'em a little larger and trim 'em down" method mentioned on the about.com site, especially when I'm only making a few squares at a time.
