Quiltcon Talkback
We had many of our members at Quiltcon this year. Some of their observations were:

  • Quilts made with different substrates
  • Social justice and political quilts; many by children
  • Lots of Improv quilting
  • An eclectic mix of quilting styles and techniques
  • The Best in Show quilt was a group quilt for the first time

Show and Tell
Anita's quilt looks complicated, but uses simple piecing

Brian finished machine quilting this for his grandson

Jeannine hand quilted this quilt...

...and made this top for charity

Maureen W. finished this quit for a new baby

Maren made a lovely quilt with African fabrics, but no posting allowed yet!

???

Cynthia's quilt was inspired by a Karin Jordan Quiltcon class she took last year

Tina made this top as a possible wedding gift...

...and this top which is made from scrap table fabrics

Sue's quilt was inspired by a skein of yarn

Diana made her own batik fabric in a class in Vietnam!

Nina showed her round robin embroidery that's awaiting borders.

Chris tried a layering technique that turns "ugly" fabric into pretty fabric, with mixed results

Barbara made this in a paper piecing workshop at Quiltcon...

...and this in a machine quilting and binding class.

See You in April!
