After our first meeting this past Saturday, I've received a few requests about where I made my quilt labels. I used the
tutorial from Jaybird Quilts to make my labels. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, I've shared Julie Herman's post (links below) which also include templates.
- This is where you will find the directions to make the label file.
-This is the site where you upload, order, and print the custom fabric for the labels.
- This file will give you one label 4" tall x 6" wide with seam allowances. Finished size 3.5" x 5.5"
- It is ideal if you want to order one yard of fabric with the same design repeated. You will get 63 labels from this size.
Some helpful tips:
- Julie's templates are available for download on Flickr. When saving the file, please make sure to download the original size.
- If you are savvy in Illustrator or Photoshop, you can use her label template in one of the layers and create a new layer to incorporate your design. When saving, just hide the template layer.
